Frequently Asked Questions & Yoga Etiquette
Q. I've never done yoga before. What's the best class for me? A. Read over the class descriptions, and if you are still uncertain, please email to discuss the best fit for you. Q. I've done other styles of yoga, but not Svaroopa® yoga. What's the best class for me? A. If you have never attended a Svaroopa® yoga class please begin with a BASIC or GENTLE class. Svaroopa® yoga is not difficult but the principles and precise alignment of the poses are different than other styles. Q. What should I wear? A. Wear loose fitting clothing that is easy to move in and very comfortable to sit in, for example: leotards, leggings, sweatpants, t-shirts, etc. Q. What should I bring? A. Just yourself and a fairly empty tummy. All of the props and supplies you'll need are available at the studio. There is also filtered water available but you may bring your own. It's best not to eat a big meal immediately before a class. A small snack is fine. Q. How do I register? A. Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before the class begins. This will provide time for you to fill in the registration form, consent and release form and receive a brief introduction and orientation. Q. Do the classes need to be taken consecutively? A. No. You may purchase a center membership and you may take any class anytime for no extra charge. Or you may purchase a Class Only Package for 10 classes to be used within 5 months or 18 classes to be used within 9 months. Q. May I use the classes I purchased for any class? A. Yes. Q. How often should I practice or take classes? A. We recommend that you practice at home daily and attend one, preferably 2, classes per week. Or do what your schedule allows. The more yoga you do the more benefit you’ll receive. Q. How is Svaroopa® yoga different than other styles of yoga or hatha yoga? A. Svaroopa® Yoga is a form of yoga that works with the body in a different way than other styles. Svaroopa® Yoga uses supports (blankets, blocks, chairs, and the floor) and precise body alignment to help you to find and unravel tension in deep spinal muscles. Svaroopa® yoga is very therapeutic, safe, effective, reliable and healing on all levels. Read more Yoga Etiquette PLEASE:
